About Us

Cal Recreational Sports is dedicated to enhancing the knowledge, wellness, fitness, personal skills and quality of life for students, faculty, staff, and the community. By providing facilities, programs, activities and the opportunity for cooperative and competitive play, Recreational Sports teaches life-long fitness skills, leadership, management, interpersonal skills, and helps to balance the stress of studying and working in a rigorous academic environment.

What We Believe

WE ARE ALL ATHLETES. We may not play before thousands of fans, have perfect form, or have a shot at breaking any world records. That’s true. We have something else: A commitment to improving our lives through fitness, sports, adventure and play. We do it for the fun of it; for the love of it; for the challenge of mastering new skills or improving old ones. That’s how it should be. And what we learn here won’t disappear when the game ends and the crowd goes home. THIS IS FOR LIFE.
