- NOTE: Hearst pool will be closed during Spring Break, and is scheduled to reopen on Monday, March 31.
Location
The pools are in Hearst Gym which is located on the south side of campus on Bancroft Way at Bowditch Street, just across from the University Art Museum.
Wheelchair Access
There is a pool lift for those needing assistance getting into pool. To access the locker room and pools, enter from the east door and proceed down the main corridor. The locker rooms and service center are located on the main level. The main swimming pool is located on the second level. The elevator is located near the service counter.

Street parking and local paid lots.

Description
- North Pool: 4 Lanes, 33 1/3 yard length, 81-81 F temp. Open recreation lap swim only.
- East Pool: 2 Lanes, 20 yard length, 81-82 F temp. Instructional classes only.
- West Pool: 2 Lanes, 20 yard length, 81-82 F temp. Instructional and Group X classes only.
Amenities include locker rooms, hot showers, day locks, swim suit spinners, kickboards, pool lift, wheelchair access, and towel service.
To access the Hearst pools, present a current Cal Rec Club membership card or Day Pass (available for purchase at the Recreational Sports Facility) to the Hearst Service Center attendant in exchange for a swim tag.
