Parking in Berkeley can be difficult. Most university lots require proper university permits and are patrolled every day. In the RSF parking garage, which is located directly beneath the RSF, there are 27 Public Pay Parking spaces, which are available to Cal Rec Club members and to the general public. These spaces are clearly marked as public spaces. To park in these spaces, you will need to buy a parking dispensing machine ticket (DMT) from the yellow pay machine, located in the center of the garage, and display it clearly on your dashboard. Parking rates:
Monday - Friday
6 AM to 5 PM
- $3 for the first hour then $1 per hour to the 5th hour, then $2 per hour to a $15 maximum.
After 5 PM
Saturday & Sunday
The machine takes quarters, $1, $5, and $10 dollar bills. The machine does not make change and does not accept credit cards or ATM cards.
Faculty & Staff Parking Permits
The majority of parking spaces in the RSF garage are reserved for vehicles bearing UC Faculty/Staff parking permits (C and F permits). On evenings and weekends, hourly permits for these spaces are sold to the general public through the yellow parking dispensing machine located in the center of the garage.
